WELCOME!

        To Our New Website

The Angelfish Society was founded in 2000 and became incorporated in March 2003 as a not-for-profit corporation.

We are a collection of Angelfish enthusiasts, hobbyists and breeders who are interested in the advancement of our hobby, through improvements in the quality of the fish we keep and breed, by employing the standards which this society has implemented and will continue to develop.

Our founding membership came from the Angelfish Forum where the idea evolved that a set of standards used throughout the hobby would benefit not only the Angelfish, but also the professional breeders, hobbyists and enthusiasts who enjoy these wonderful freshwater fish.

The Angelfish Society is dedicated to the enhancement of the Angelfish through high quality breeding programs using standards established by the society.

President's  Message

Welcome to 2010!  This is shaping up to be an exciting year for TAS.  We will be holding our first TAS-sanctioned, judged, and awarded angelfish show in conjunction with the American Cichlid Association Expo in July.

This will be a major milestone for TAS, and I foresee many benefits from our participation.  One of the most important benefits is the national exposure and recognition that can come from our partnering with ACA and the Milwaukee Aquarium Society at this event.  And this exposure is important.

I joined TAS nine years ago because I thought our organization has a lot to offer.  I still believe that.  Partnering with ACA and MAS will give us the opportunity to reach out to angelfish enthusiasts everywhere as we promote standards of excellence in angelfish.

Im looking forward to a great year.  Im saving up my airline miles and have already committed to flying down from Alaska to attend the expo.  Im looking forward to meeting many of my fellow TAS members in person for the first time, meeting angelfish lovers from far and wide, and feasting my eyes on all the beautiful angelfish that will be shown at this event. I hope to see you there!
